Softball: Despite UK’s sweep of Arkansas on the road, the Cats’ first series loss of the year dropped the team just a bit in both major polls. UK is ranked No. 23 in the ESPN.com/USA Softball Collegiate Top 25 but held steady at No. 24 in the USA Today/NFCA Division I Top 25 Poll. Kentucky is 19-6 on the season with a road game at Louisville on Wednesday.
Gymnastics: Heading into next weekend’s NCAA Central Regional Championship, UK is ranked No. 30 in the GymInfo national rankings. The only problem for the Cats is the five other teams in their regional are ranked ahead of them.
Men’s tennis: Three wins at home held UK steady at No. 14 in the Intercollegiate Tennis Association rankings. Singles and doubles rankings only come out every other weeks, so junior Eric Quigley stayed at No. 4 player in the country in singles. Alex Musialek (No. 47) and Anthony Rossi (No. 77) are both in the top 100. Two of UK’s double tandems, Alberto Gonzalez and Tom Jomby (No. 41) and Brad Cox and Eric Quigley (No. 49) are in the top 50.
