ATLANTA – Just arrived with the men’s basketball team in Atlanta, host of the 2011 Southeastern Conference Tournament. Rough flight with a lot of turbulence because of some uncooperative weather and there was some typical Atlanta traffic once we touched down and got on the bus, but we’re safe and sound now at the Marriott in downtown Atlanta. The team is currently at dinner and will head to the Georgia Dome after that for a short team practice.Don’t have a lot of information for you now other than to say the mood of the team was pretty relaxed on the flight down. The guys seem at ease and they were joking around with each other. A three-game winning streak can do that for you.Head coach John Calipari did not make the trip down because he’s watching signee Michael Gilchrist play, but he will join the team later Wednesday night.Stay tuned Thursday for more coverage. It’s been a long day and I’d like to explore Atlanta a little bit, but I’ll start diving into the tournament more Thursday morning.
