LEXINGTON, Ky. – After its best finish of the year at the Mobile Bay Intercollegiate, the University of Kentucky men’s golf team hopes to continue its strong play this spring when it travels to the Cleveland Golf Palmetto Intercollegiate in Aiken, S.C. on Monday.

The 14th Annual Cleveland Golf Palmetto Intercollegiate will feature a 6,565-yard, par 70 setup at the Palmetto Golf Club. The first two rounds of the tournament will be played Monday with the 54-hole tournament concluding Tuesday with a single round. The event is hosted by University of South Carolina-Aiken.

USC Aiken is the only Division II team in the field with some of the top programs in all of NCAA golf competing in this year’s Cleveland Golf Palmetto Intercollegiate. In addition to the host Pacers this year’s field includes Akron, Alabama, Chattanooga, Clemson, College of Charleston, East Carolina, Elon, Francis Marion, Furman, Georgia Southern, Kentucky, Liberty, Maryland, Presbyterian, Wofford, Vanderbilt and Virginia.

Kentucky is coming off its best outing of the season, finishing second at the Mobile Bay Intercollegiate with a season-low team score of 874. The Wildcats were led at the event sophomore Chase Parker, who finished in a tie for second place for his best collegiate finish, while freshman Cody Martin finished in a tie for fourth.

UK will take a young rotation to South Carolina, consisting of one freshman, three sophomores and one senior. Parker and senior Brian Belden will lead the Wildcats at the top of the rotation, while sophomores Joseph Barr and Seth Blann anchor the middle of the rotation. Martin will fill the No. 5 spot for UK.
