LEXINGTON, Ky. (AP) – A’dia Mathies made a layup with 4.4 seconds left to give No. 20 Kentucky a 55-54 win over Arkansas on Thursday night.

Mathies held the ball at the top of the key during Kentucky’s final possession. She drove and hit a contested shot from the left side to give the Wildcats their first lead in over 12 minutes.

C’eira Ricketts got off one last shot for Arkansas from about 35 feet but missed it to the right.

Mathies finished with 17 points and nine rebounds for Kentucky (21-7, 10-5 Southeastern Conference).

Ricketts had 17 points for Arkansas (18-9, 6-9).

The Razorbacks had the ball and a one-point lead after Kentucky’s Victoria Dunlap hit a pair of free throws with 24.9 seconds left. But Yashira Delgado stepped out while trying to break the Wildcats’ press, setting up Mathies’ big shot.

Kentucky led 28-13 before the Razorbacks closed the first half with an 8-0 run.
