LEXINGTON, Ky. – Kentucky women’s basketball senior Victoria Dunlap was named to the 2010-11 Naismith midseason top 30 list, announced by the Atlanta Tipoff Club Monday.

The midseason 30 list was compiled by the Atlanta Tipoff Club’s Board of Selectors, which based its criteria on player performances from the 2010-11 college basketball season. The Naismith Trophy, presented by AT&T, will be awarded on April 4, 2011 at the NCAA Women’s Final Four in Indianapolis.

Dunlap, a 6-foot-1 forward from Nashville, Tenn., is one of the most versatile players in the country as she ranks in the top half of eight statistical categories in the Southeastern Conference, including leading the league in scoring (17.2 points per game) and steals (3.2 steals per game). The preseason and reigning SEC Player of the Year and first-team All-SEC selection, also ranks second in field goal percentage (.466), fourth in rebounding (8.8) and defensive rebounds (5.5), fifth in free-throw percentage (.716) and blocked shots (1.5) and is sixth in offensive rebounds (3.4).

She has helped lead the No. 15/18 Wildcats to a 19-6 overall record, including an 8-4 mark in conference play. Also a candidate for the prestigious The John R. Wooden Award and the State Farm Wade Trophy, Dunlap has registered six double-doubles and scored double-figure points in all but two games this season, including nine 20-plus point outings.

“From coast to coast you will see some of the most exciting basketball anywhere and the level of competition is outstanding,” said Eric Oberman, Atlanta Tipoff Club executive director. “I expect the race for this year’s Naismith Trophy to go right down to the wire.”

Since 2005, presenting sponsor AT&T has set the standard in allowing fans to participate in determining the trophy winner. Through the power and ease of text messaging fan voting will account for 25 percent of all of the final results – more than any other national college basketball award.

“AT&T is proud to give college basketball fans – arguably the most enthusiastic sports fans – the chance to applaud their favorite student-athletes’ performances,” said Jamie Kerr, senior manager, AT&T National Sponsorships. “Through our text-message voting program, fans have the chance to select the winner of the prestigious 2011 Women’s Naismith Trophy.”
