LEXINGTON, Ky. – The postseason has arrived for the divers of the Kentucky men’s and women’s swimming and diving teams with the Southeastern Conference Diving Championships beginning Friday in Gainesville, Fla., at the Stephen C. O’Connell Center.
Freshman Greg Ferrucci will lead the men’s side and senior Lisa Faulkner will guide the women’s side in the three-day championship meet. Ferrucci and Faulkner are the top divers for Kentucky on the one- and three-meter boards and the platform.
Ferrucci enters the championship meet ranked among the top eight divers in the SEC on all three boards, including the fifth best score on the one-meter board.
For the women, Faulkner has the top score in the SEC on the one-meter board and is sixth on the platform.
The men’s one-meter preliminary heat will run from 11 to 12 p.m. ET Friday, with the women’s three-meter preliminary heat going from 1 to 2:15 p.m. The men’s one-meter finals will begin at 5 p.m., followed by the women’s three-meter finals at 6 p.m.
Saturday will host the men’s three-meter and women’s one-meter finals, and the men and women will compete on the platform Sunday.

Sergesketter, Russell named to SEC Community Service Team
Senior Kayla Sergesketter and junior Matt Russell have been named to the SEC Community Service Team, the league office announced.
Sergesketter, a Jasper, Ind., native, has helped out in the community throughout the year. Her efforts include volunteering for activities and organizations like Touch-a-Truck Child Development Center for the Bluegrass, Tri for Sight Triathlon, Legacy Trail Grand Opening and Buddy Walk for Down Syndrome. She has also tutored at Tates Creek Elementary and helped out at a Big Blue Madness fundraiser, God’s Pantry backpack program, Jesus Prom and was a Salvation Army Bell Ringer. Sergesketter has logged more than 29 hours of community service throughout the season, while also earning NCAA (B) provisional times in the 50, 100 and 200 freestyle. She has seven NCAA (B) provisional times, including four relays (200- and 400-freestyle relays and the 200- and 400-medley relays), and leads the Cats in the 50-, 100- and 200-freestyle events.
Russell has been heavily involved with the Tri for Sight Triathlon Fundraiser. He leads Kentucky in the 100 breaststroke and 100 butterfly this season and swims the second leg in the Cats’ top 200-freestyle relay, and 200- and 400-medley relays. He also ranks in the top two for Kentucky in the 100 and 200 breaststroke, 100 butterfly and 200 IM.
The SEC Swimming Championships begin Wednesday and will run until Saturday, Feb. 19. Like the diving championships, the swimming championships are also being held in Gainesville.
