OXFORD, Miss. — After dispatching tradition-rich Alaska-Fairbanks on Wednesday, the Kentucky rifle team continues its stretch of three matches in four days, traveling to Oxford, Miss., to face Memphis on Friday and Ole Miss on Saturday at the Patricia C. Lamar National Guard Readiness Center.

Kentucky (7-1) is coming off a win over UAF on Wednesday, as the Wildcats used strong performances from Henri Junghänel and Heather Greathouse to a 4668-4650 win. Greathouse led UK with a 584 in smallbore, while Junghänel set a school-record with a 596 in air rifle.

“We are real excited for this trip,” UK head coach Harry Mullins said. “This is a tough stretch with three matches in four days, but I think our team is ready for the challenge. We had a good performance on Wednesday against Alaska and I think the team is eager to get down to Oxford and compete against two good teams.”

The trip will feature an inside look into a road trip with the Kentucky rifle team, as UKathletics.com will document the journey with continual updates. Fans can see interviews with each UK student-athlete and a behind-the-scenes look at the Wildcats as they prepare for two road matches.
