LEXINGTON, Ky. – Twany Beckham, a transfer from Mississippi State, has enrolled at Kentucky this semester and will walk on the men’s basketball team.

Beckham, a 6-foot-5 guard from Louisville, Ky., will be a junior when he’s eligible to play next year. He played two seasons in three years in Starkville, Miss.

He saw action in 33 games in his freshman season in 2008-09 and after redshirting in his sophomore year, he started five games this year prior to the start of the second semester.

Beckham played his prep ball at Ballard High School in Louisville where he was a three-year starter for and helped pace the Bruins to a three-year composite mark of 86-16 (.843) and a pair of Sweet 16 state tournament appearances.

Beckham can practice with the team for the remainder of this season, but will not be eligible to play until the end of the first semester of the 2011-12 season.

Kentucky plays again Saturday at South Carolina. Tip-off is set for 6 p.m. and will air on national TV by ESPN.
