  • Kentucky ends the season with a 6-7 record. Pittsburgh, tri-champion of the Big East Conference, has an 8-5 record.
  • This was the first game between Kentucky and Pittsburgh.
  • Kentucky has an all-time record of 51-30-5 against teams that make up the current alignment of the Big East Conference.
  • Playing in a school-record fifth-consecutive bowl game, UK is now 8-7 all-time in bowl action. This was UK’s first appearance in the BBVA Compass Bowl. UK has a 1-2 record in bowl games played in Birmingham, including two appearances in the 1983 and ’84 Hall of Fame Bowls.

UK Individual Notes

  • A total of 15 Wildcats, 12 seniors and three graduating juniors, participated in their final game in the Blue and White.
  • Derrick Locke rushed 12 times for 71 yards. He finished his career with 2,650 rushing yards. During today’s game he moved past George Adams (2,648 yards) and finished in fifth place in school history in career rushing yardage.
  • Locke had 181 all-purpose yards today. He finished his career with 4,973 all-purpose yards, third in school history.
  • Locke finished his career as Kentucky’s all-time kickoff return leader with a career average of 27.11 yards per return. He returned 54 kickoffs for 1,464 yards. The old record was 27.05 yards per kickoff return by Calvin Bird from 1958-60.
  • Randall Cobb had five receptions for 62 yards, rushed three times for 23 yards, returned two punts for 18 yards and returned four kickoffs for 101 yards. He had 204 all-purpose yards today.
  • Cobb set the Southeastern Conference single-season record for all-purpose yards with 2,396 yards. The old record was 2,310 all-purpose yards by Darren McFadden of Arkansas in 2007.
  • With five pass receptions today, Cobb has 144 in his career, moving past Dicky Lyons Jr. (141) for fifth place on the UK career receptions list.
  • Cobb finished the season with 84 catches for 1,017 yards. He became the fifth player in school history to reach 1,000 receiving yards in a season.
  • Sophomore quarterback Morgan Newton completed 21 of 36 passes for 211 yards today, career highs in every category
  • Danny Trevathan has made double-figure tackles in nine consecutive games, the first Wildcat to achieve that feat since Marty Moore had double-figures in 13-straight games in 1991-92.
  • Sophomore linebacker Ridge Wilson had six tackles, tying his previous high set earlier this season against Vanderbilt.
  • Sophomore kicker Craig McIntosh hit a 50-yard field goal in the first quarter, setting a bowl record for longest field goal. It also tied his career long set earlier this season at Ole Miss.
  • Senior fullback Moncell Allen scored on a one-yard touchdown run in the third quarter. It was his first rushing touchdown of the season and fourth rushing TD of his career.
  • Offensive tackle Brad Durham played in all 52 games during the last four seasons.
