LEXINGTON, Ky. – University of Kentucky freshman Greg Ferrucci closed out an already impressive performance at the Tennessee Diving Invitational with a fifth-place score in the platform dive. Joining Ferrucci in the top 10, senior Lisa Faulkner finished in ninth-place in the women’s platform.

For Ferrucci, Wednesday was the culmination of three days of hard work on the diving board. On Monday at the Allan Jones Intercollegiate Aquatic Center in Knoxville Tenn., Ferrucci finished in third place in the men’s one-meter championship. The freshman from Huntersville, N.C., then earned a sixth-place mark Tuesday in the men’s three-meter championship.

On Wednesday, the invitational’s final day, Ferrucci scored a 312.00 to break his previous best score of 301.30 set at the Tennessee Invitational in November.

Faulkner earned a score of 223.00 on the platform en route to earning her ninth-place finish. Faulkner was competing on the platform against 33 other divers.

Faulkner’s ninth-place finish on the women’s platform comes on the heels of her 25th-place finish in the women’s three-meter championship, and seventh-place finish in the women’s one-meter championship.

Thirty-two divers competed in the men’s platform championship, including Ferrucci and fellow UK freshman Zack Peterson. Peterson scored a 240.95 and finished in 20th place.

More than 120 divers from 16 different schools competed this week at the Tennessee Invitational. It is the invitational’s third year.
