LEXINGTON, Ky. – Kentucky’s Keyla Snowden (Lexington, Ky.) was named the Southeastern Conference Player of the Week after coming off the bench to score a career-high 28 points in 19 minutes vs. Arkansas Pine-Bluff last week, the league office in Birmingham, Ala., announced.

The 5-foot-7 junior guard nailed a career-high tying six three-pointers on 12 attempts en route to tying the school record for consecutive games with at least one three-pointer. Former Wildcat Sara Potts set the mark, hitting a trey in 20 consecutive games from Jan. 4, 2004 – Nov. 26, 2004. Snowden, who currently  ranks second in the SEC in three-point field goal percentage (.467) and three-point field goals made (26), also charted three assists, two rebounds, and a steal in the 107-35 win over UAPB.

This is Snowden’s first career conference honor.

The Wildcats (9-1) return to action with rare back-to-back nonconference home games, playing host to Middle Tennessee on Wednesday, Dec. 29 and UT-Martin on Thursday, Dec. 30. Both contests will tip at 6 p.m. EST and be televised on BBSN/FSN South.
