LEXINGTON, KY – Three UK men’s basketball signees are among the top 10 senior boys named to the Naismith Trophy High School Player of the Year watch list as announced by the Atlanta Tipoff Club.

Anthony Davis (Perspectives Charter, Chicago, Ill.), Michael Gilchrist (St. Patrick, Elizabeth, N.J.) and Marquis Teague (Pike, Indianapolis, Ind.) were all named in the top 10 to the list.

The watch list was comprised by leading basketball journalists from around the country who form the national voting academy, and identify players under consideration for the award.

In February, the voting academy will narrow the list down to five male candidates with winners being selected at the end of the high school basketball season.

Scout.com ranks Davis as the top overall prospect in the country. Davis is currently ranked as the best power forward in the country and second overall by ESPN Recruiting and Rivals.com ranks him the second best power forward and sixth overall.

ESPN Recruiting, Rivals.com and Scout.com all rank Gilchrist the No. 1 small forward in the country. ESPN Recruiting and Rivals.com rank him third overall in the Class of 2011 and Scout.com ranks him fifth overall.

Rivals.com ranks Teague as the top point guard in the country and second overall, while ESPN Recruiting and Scout.com both rank him the top point guard in the country and the sixth best overall.

Kentucky returns to action on Saturday, Dec. 18, hosting the Mississippi Valley State Delta Devils. The game is scheduled for an 8:00 p.m. ET tip and can be seen live on CSS.
