LEXINGTON, Ky. – Kentucky’s Victoria Dunlap (Nashville, Tenn.) was named the Southeastern Conference Co-Player of the Week with Vanderbilt’s Hanna Tuomi after averaging a team-high 28.0 points, 9.0 rebounds, 4.0 steals and 2.5 blocks per game in wins over Tennessee Tech and Chattanooga last week, the league office in Birmingham, Ala., announced.

The 6-foot-1 senior forward recorded a season-high 30 points and grabbed nine rebounds vs. Tennessee Tech, scoring 18 points in the first half. It marked her third career game with 30 or more points. She also hit her first three-pointer of the season vs. the Golden Eagles. She followed that performance with 26 points and nine rebounds at Chattanooga, scoring 18 of those points in the decisive second half after playing just eight minutes in the opening stanza due to foul trouble. Dunlap hit 67.6 percent from the floor last week, including a season-high 73.3 percent (11-of-15) against the Lady Mocs.

Dunlap currently ranks third nationally in rebounding and is listed in the top five of seven SEC statistical categories, including leading the league in scoring (19.3), rebounding (11.4), blocks (2.3) and steals (3.7). She also continues to move up several UK career charts, including points (12th-1,419), rebounds (3rd-891), blocks (3rd-145), steals (7th-230) and double-doubles (4th-24). She needs just nine more rebounds to become the third player in school history with 900 or more in a career.

This is Dunlap’s 10th overall conference Player of the Week honor, her second this season.

The Wildcats (7-1) will take a break from game action for finals week and return to the court Saturday, Dec. 18 vs. Alabama A&M at 2 p.m. EST.
