LEXINGTON, Ky. – The Kentucky football team practiced its normal 90 minutes on Thursday morning but got it done earlier so that the players could join family and friends for Thanksgiving.
“We started at 8:00 this morning instead of 9:30 like we usually do,” Coach Joker Phillips said afterward. “Practice was good. We had a little wind but we might have to play in the wind. This is a stadium where the wind swirls. I thought we threw and caught the ball well (in practice).”
Phillips announced that reserve wide receiver Brian Adams, who strained a hamstring in the Vanderbilt game, will be available for action on Saturday. However, reserve defensive end Nermin Delic will not play at Tennessee because of an injured shoulder.
“Happy Thanksgiving to everyone!” Phillips concluded.
The Wildcats will spend Thanksgiving with family or friends, then bus to Knoxville on Friday afternoon. Kickoff is on Saturday is 12:21 p.m. The game will be televised on the SEC Network.
