LEXINGTON, Ky. – Kentucky’s Victoria Dunlap (Nashville, Tenn.) was named the Southeastern Conference Player of the Week after leading the ninth-ranked Cats to an 81-76 win over No. 12 Notre Dame on Sunday, the league office in Birmingham, Ala., announced. Dunlap led all players with 24 points, 14 rebounds, four assists, three blocks and two steals.

The 6-foot-1 senior forward played a game-high 38 minutes and went 7-of-12 from the floor and 10-of-12 from the free-throw line in UK’s first win over a ranked non-conference opponent at home since 1997. The reigning SEC Player of the Year has now scored in double digits in 36 of her last 39 games, including 10 in a row.

Dunlap currently leads the SEC in scoring (19.3 ppg), steals (4.3 spg) and blocks (3.3 bpg). She also continues to move up several UK career charts, including points (13th-1,346), rebounds (3rd-843), blocks (3rd-139), steals (8th-220) and double-doubles (4th-23).

This is Dunlap’s ninth overall conference Player of the Week honor, her first this season.

The Wildcats (3-0) return to action this weekend when they participate in the Lady Eagle Thanksgiving Classic in Hattiesburg, Miss. UK will meet intrastate rival Murray State on Friday, Nov. 26 in the first round at 8:30 p.m. EST and either host-team Southern Miss or Louisiana-Lafayette on Saturday, Nov. 27 at 3 p.m. or 5 p.m. EST.
