LEXINGTON, Ky. – University of Kentucky sophomore Betsie Johnson was named to the Southeastern Conference Fall Golf Honor Roll.

Johnson, a Nicholasville, Ky., native, is one of three Kentucky golfers to have played in each of the Cats’ four tournaments this fall season. Of those four tournaments, Johnson led UK in three of them, earning an average round score of 74.50, tied for 16th best in the SEC.

Johnson earned her highest career finish Oct. 3 in the William K. Warren Irish Invitational when she finished in fifth place. Johnson’s first round, two-under-par 70 in the Mercedes-Benz Collegiate Championships in Knoxville, Tenn., on Oct. 8 tied her career low as a collegiate golfer.

Johnson was joined on the honor roll by Brooke Pancake of Alabama, Emily Tubert of Arkansas, Cydney Clanton of Auburn, Evan Jensen of Florida, Marta Silva Zamora of Georgia, Megan McChrystal of LSU, Natalie Gleadall of Ole Miss, Mississippi State’s Erika Thornton, South Carolina’s Katie Burnett, Tennessee’s Erica Popson and Marina Alex of Vanderbilt.

Johnson and the Cats will hit the links again Feb. 13 in Sorrento, Fla., for the University of Central Florida Challenge.
