LEXINGTON, Ky. – Kentucky strength and conditioning coach Stephanie Tracey-Simmons will lead a webinar for the American Volleyball Coaches Association’s website, Oct. 12. Tracey-Simmons will offer support to coaches regarding mid-season conditioning.
The AVCA is currently in the midst of offering weekly webinar series to aid coaches on a variety of topics, and Tracey-Simmons was tapped to provide instruction on differentiating between the needs of starters versus players only participating in warm-ups.
A former Ohio University volleyball player, Tracey-Simmons is in her ninth season with the Kentucky volleyball team after coming on staff as the head Olympic sport strength and conditioning coach in August 2002.
Tracey-Simmons’ webinar titled “Mid-season Conditioning: The Quest to Keep Both Starters and Substitutes in Shape,” is set to take place at Noon ET, on Oct. 12 on the AVCA.org website. Tracey-Simmons will discuss how to balance the needs of those hitting 40 balls a match compared with those hitting only in warm-ups.
Tracey-Simmons began her career in strength and conditioning as a graduate assistant at her alma mater from 1997-98. She was hired in the same role at UCLA in 1998 and left the Bruins as the associate head strength and conditioning coach in August of 2002.
In addition to working with volleyball, Tracey-Simmons works with the men’s and women’s swimming, women’s basketball, and softball teams at UK and oversees all other Olympic sports.
