LEXINGTON, Ky. – University of Kentucky wide receiver/quarterback/kickoff returner/punt returner/holder Randall Cobb has received two more honors for his four-touchdown performance Saturday vs. Auburn.
Cobb is one of four players named as “Paul Hornung’s Most Versatile Performers of the Week” by the Louisville Sports Commission. The LSC is sponsoring the inaugural Paul Hornung Award for the most versatile player in college football. In addition, Cobb received one of five Southeastern Conference “helmet stickers” bestowed by Chris Low, the SEC beat writer for ESPN.com.
“Was there a better player anywhere in college football Saturday?” Low wrote.
On Sunday, Cobb was named the National Wide Receiver/Running Back of the Week by the College Football Performance Awards.
Cobb opened the game with a 36-yard kickoff return into Auburn territory, then concluded the possession with a two-yard touchdown run. Later in the game he added a six-yard touchdown pass to freshman tight end Jordan Aumiller, a 16-yard TD catch from Mike Hartline and a one-yard scoring run.
In the process, Cobb tied the Kentucky career touchdown record with his 32nd TD. He also was the first UK player since Shane Boyd in 2003 to run for a touchdown, catch a touchdown pass and throw a TD pass in the same game. Cobb rang up 207 total yards during the game, including 47 rushing, 68 receiving, 86 on kickoff returns and six passing yards.

Georgia Game to the Televised on CSS: The Georgia at Kentucky game on Sat. Oct. 23 will be televised by Comcast Sports Southeast (CSS). Game time is 7:30 p.m.
