LEXINGTON, Ky. – The University of Kentucky men’s golf team finished play at the Wolf Run Intercollegiate in Zionsville, Ind., on Sunday, with two Wildcats, sophomores Chase Parker and Joseph Barr, scoring top-30 finishes. As a team, the Wildcats finished the two-day, 54-hole event in 13th.

UK was led at the tournament by Parker, who scored a final-round, team-best score of 1-over-par 73. A member of the 2010 Southeastern Conference All-Freshman team, Parker scored a 9-over-par 223 overall at the event to finish in a tie for 23rd. Parker was followed by Barr, who shot a 74 in the opening round and duplicated that effort with a 74 in the final round Sunday. For the tournament, Barr scored an 11-over-par 224, finishing tied for 28th.

Senior Brian Belden, freshman Stephen Powers and sophomore Seth Blann wrapped up the UK rotation. Belden, who scored a UK tournament-best score of 1-over-par 72 in the second round, finished in a tie for 40th at 13-over-par 226. Powers, playing in his first collegiate tournament, shot a 78 in the final round and finished in 68th at 20-over par. Blann was the final Wildcat in the rotation, finishing tied for 72nd at 22-over par.

UK redshirt freshman Cody Martin, the lone individual in the tournament for Kentucky, shot an 80 in the third round and finish 78th at 27-over par.

Kentucky posted a team score of 902, finishing in 13th. Illinois won the tournament at 859, followed by Ball State and UCF, which each finished at 878 and in a tie for second.

The Wildcats will return to action in October, playing in the Gary Koch Invitational on Oct. 2, in Tampa, Fla.
