Men's Soccer


LEXINGTON, Ky. — After opening its first two exhibition games with wins over Dayton and storied Brazilian club Botofogo’s under-19 team, the Kentucky men’s soccer will host Marquette in the final exhibition game of the 2010 season, with kickoff slated for 1 p.m. ET on Friday at the UK Soccer Complex.

Kentucky has opened the season with a 2-1 comeback win over Dayton on Monday, using goals from freshmen Tyler Riggs and Ellis Vienne. On Wednesday, UK played an international friendly with Botofogo’s under-19 club, using a goal from sophomore Jacob Kemper in the first half for a 1-0 win.

Marquette has opened up its preseason schedule with a pair of wins over UW-Whitewater and UW-Parkside, claiming a 5-1 goals differential.  

The Wildcats will open up the 2010 regular season on Sept. 3 with the annual University of Kentucky Invitational, hosting Eastern Illinois at 7:30 p.m. ET at the UK Soccer Complex. IUPUI and UNC Asheville will open the UKIT with a 5 p.m. ET match on Sept. 3.
