AWENDAW, S.C. — University of Kentucky men’s golf senior Jordan Blann used a 3-under-par score of 68 in the final round to finish tied for 10th at the 2010 Hootie at Bulls Bay Intercollegiate on Tuesday. As a team, the Wildcats (299-283-286-868) finished 11th with three players finishing in the top 50.

Blann (73-70-68-211) paced the Wildcats all tournament, leading Kentucky from the opening round until the tournament’s conclusion. The native of Bowling Green, Ky., used six birdies in the final round to card his impressive score of 68, tying a season-low score for the senior. The top-10 finish is the second of the season for Blann, who also finished tied for 10th at the Hummingbird Intercollegiate. The senior ended the tournament at 2-under-par.

Freshman Chase Parker (79-70-71-220) and sophomore Mads Kristensen (73-76-71-220) finished second on the UK team with both players ending the tournament tied for 46th. Both players carded even-par 71 scores in the final round to finish at 7-over-par. Parker, a native of Augusta, Ga., had two rounds that were even par or better at the tournament, while Kristensen posted his tournament high in birdies with four in the final round.

The Wildcats’ rotation was wrapped up by junior Brian Belden (77-71-76-224) and senior Ben Fuqua (76-72-76-224), who both finished in a tie for 55th. Belden and Fuqua each shot 5-over-par in the final round with Belden carding two birdies and Fuqua posting three birdies on the last day of competition.

The team tournament was won by LSU (288-278-279-845) at 7-under-par. The individual tournament title was won by Matt Hill (68-67-69-204) of North Carolina State, who shot a 9-under-par.

Kentucky returns to action April 10-11 when it hosts the UK Bluegrass Invitational. The tournament will be held at the University Club of Kentucky with live stats available on ukathletics.com.
