COLUMBUS, Ohio – Behind its second top-five relay finish of the week the Kentucky men’s swimming and diving team scored a 16th place finish overall at the 2010 NCAA Championships hosted by Ohio State University.

Kentucky’s 400-freestyle relay squad placed fifth overall with an incredible time of 2:51.84 which is a season-best time for the team and just misses the school record of 2:51.72 set just last season.

The quartet was comprised of seniors Eric McGinnis (43.85), Elvis Burrows (42.75), junior Tyler Reed (43.08) and senior Kyle Greene (42.90) who all earn All-America distinctions for their top-five tap.

Reed finished 18th individually in the 100-freestyle to lead the Wildcats, and just narrowly miss out on participating in the finals tonight. Reed tapped in with a season-best time of 43.35.

Greene placed 21st overall in the same event when he clocked in a time of 43.44. Forbes scored a 31st place finish with a time of 43.80 and classmate Elvis Burrows notched a time of 44.54 to place 43rd in the event.

It was another successful season for the Blue and White as four individuals earned All-America status and UK had three relays score top-16 finishes allowing all six participants to rack up All-America status. It marks the third consecutive season the Wildcats have finished in the top-20 in the country at the national meet.
