WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. – Senior swimmer Megan Pulskamp wrapped up her stellar career with a season-best swim in the 100-freestyle during the final day of competition at the 2010 NCAA Championships hosted by Purdue University.
Pulskamp led the Wildcats with a 30th place finish in the event and a season-best time of 49.58, bettering her time of 49.63 time she set at the Southeastern Conference Championships in February. Pulskamp wraps up her career as a five-time All-America honoree. She earned two All-America accolades this season as a member of the top-15 200 and 400-medley relay teams. Pulskamp will also cap her career as the UK record holder in the 100-butterfly.
Junior Chatham Penrod tapped in a time of 1:57.89 in the 200-backstroke and finished 46th overall in the event. Penrod, who placed 16th in the nation in the 100-backstroke a day earlier, has added to her All-America status with three honors this season.
On the boards, Lisa Faulkner scored 165.60 points and finished 29th in the platform event. Faulkner will return to UK next season possessing NCAA Championship experience after qualifying for her first national meet of her career this season.
Kentucky finished 34th overall at the 2010 NCAA Championships with 15 total points. The conclusion of today’s competition wraps up the season for the Blue and White on the women’s side. The men will return to action later this week at their 2010 Championships hosted by Ohio State beginning Thursday.
