- Key run: After Kentucky took a 35-32 lead on a layup by Amani Franklin at 13:00, Vanderbilt went on an 11-3 run to grab a 43-38 lead with 8:20 remaining. Jence Rhoads led the Commodores with five points during the run, nailing two layups and a free throw. Lauren Lueders also hit a three-pointer. Vanderbilt outscored Kentucky 36-20 over the final 13 minutes of the contest. The Wildcats could not score a basket during a 6:48 stretch within the final 10 minutes of the game, seeing a 38-37 deficit balloon to an eight-point margin at 54-46 with 3:19 remaining.
- Kentucky falls to 3-2 this season against ranked foes, splitting two games against Vanderbilt (UK won 63-53 over then-No. 17/16 Vanderbilt [63-53] on Jan. 10); winning at No. 18/19 LSU (71-62) and winning against No. 19/18 Georgia (64-48).
- Kentucky suffers its first loss this season when leading at halftime, 16-1, 5-1 in the SEC.
- Kentucky also suffers its first loss of the year when forcing 20 or more turnovers (13-1). The Cats forced Vanderbilt into 21 turnovers. It marks the 18th time this season a UK opponent has committed 20 or more miscues in a contest.
- Kentucky made 1-of-14 attempts from three-point range, its fewest three-pointers in a game this season.
- UK lost the rebounding battle 33-26. It marks the first time in six games (Jan. 24 vs. Auburn, 39-33) that Kentucky has been out-rebounded by the opposition.
- UK made one three-pointer against Vanderbilt and has now made a three-pointer in 212 consecutive games, dating back to the 2003-04 season.
- Vanderbilt became just the second team all season to score over 67 points against the Cats (South Carolina was the other).
