LEXINGTON, Ky. — Behind excellent performances from senior Ashley Jackson and freshman Katie Fretts, the Kentucky rifle team posted a 4646 overall score in the NCAA qualifying round, held Saturday and Sunday at UK’s Barker Hall.

Kentucky (8-3) had its entire first team finish the qualifying round in both guns, totaling a 4646 team score. Jackson led the way for UK in both guns, posting team highs in smallbore (584) and air rifle (591). Fretts added a 586 in air rifle for the first team and later contributed a 578 in smallbore. In Sunday’s competition, UK’s second-team finished with a 4646 as well, speaking to the overall depth of the team.

Also on the first team for UK, senior Tom Csenge added a 584 in air rifle and a 570 in smallbore. Sophomore Ethan Settlemires charted a 590 in air rifle and a 572 in smallbore, while senior Jen pason contributed a 577 in air rifle and a 569 in smallbore.

Several other UK shooters had solid outings, with Logan Fox totaling a 588 in air rifle and a 576 in smallbore. Sophomore Megan English had a 593 in air rifle and a 575 in smallbore and freshman Heather Greathouse totaled a 587 in air rifle and a 575 in smallbore. Senior Leslie Angeli added a 584 in air rifle and freshman Stacy Wheatley finished with a 586 in air rifle.
