LINCOLN, Neb. — Led by junior Logan Fox, the Kentucky rifle team posted a 4616-4604 win over the Nebraska Corhuskers, on Saturday at the NU Rifle Range.
Kentucky (8-3) notched its second consecutive win, after besting Ole Miss Saturday in Lexington. Fox, shooting on the first team, shot a 584 in air rifle, with senior Ashley Jackson leading the team with a 587 in air rifle. Senior Tom Csenge totaled a 583 and sophomore Megan English charted a 581 to round out the air rifle team.
“I was pleased that we able to come away with the victory, but felt like we left some points on the board,” UK head coach Harry Mullins said. “We had a few good performances, but didn’t get to the total score that we were looking for. Hopefully we can get back to training and work hard to improve before we return to action in the NCAA Qualifiers.”
In smallbore, Csenge had a team-best 577, with Jackson totaling a 576. Senior Jen Pason finished with a 576 in smallbore.
The Wildcats return to action at the NCAA Qualifying round, hosted in Lexington at UK’s Barker Hall Feb. 13-14.
