Kentucky is 11-0 while Austin Peay is 7-5, ending a five-game winning streak for the Governors.
Kentucky’s 11-0 start is its best since the 1992-93 squad that opened with 11 consecutive wins.
This is the 12 th time in school history that the Wildcats have begun a season with at least 11 straight wins.
John Calipari becomes the first Kentucky coach to open his career with 11 wins in a row. Adolph Rupp opened his UK career by winning his first 10 games in the 1930-31 season.
This is the 12 th time in John Calipari’s collegiate coaching career that he has had a winning streak of at least 11 games.
This was win No. 1999 in Kentucky men’s basketball history.
Kentucky leads the Austin Peay series, 5-0.
Kentucky goes for all-time victory No. 2000 on Monday, Dec. 21, when the Wildcats play host to the Drexel Dragons. Game time is 7 p.m. and it will be telecast on ESPNU.

Kentucky used the starting lineup of John Wall, Eric Bledsoe, Darius Miller, Patrick Patterson and DeMarcus Cousins for the 10 th consecutive game.
Austin Peay got the first score of the game on a 3-pointer by Wesley Channels.
The game was tied once and the lead changed hands five times when Kentucky took the lead for good, 10-9, at the 15:38 mark on a Daniel Orton layup.
Orton’s basket began an 8-0 run that gave the Wildcats a 16-9 advantage.
DeAndre Liggins checked in with 13:43 on the clock, his first home-game appearance of the season.
Kentucky made its first five 3-point attempts of the game, with Wall swishing three 3-pointers and Miller making a pair.
Kentucky gradually pulled away, leading by as many as 16 points (47-31), before settling for a 49-35 advantage at halftime.
Kentucky used its size advantage to craft a 20-6 lead in points in the paint, not coincidentally matching UK’s 14-point lead at intermission.
Fueled by his early 3-pointers, Wall had 13 points in the opening stanza, along with five assists.

Second-Half Notes

John Wall left the game at the 17:54 mark with an apparent knee injury but was able to return at 17:24.
Austin Peay scored the first eight points of the second half, cutting the lead to 49-43.
After APSU’s run, Kentucky made a concerted effort to get the ball inside. Thirty-five of UK’s 41 points of the second half came inside or on foul shots when Wildcats were fouled in the lane driving to the basket. The only points that didn’t come around the basket were 3-pointers made by Miller and Darnell Dodson.
Austin Peay was within nine points (70-61) at the 7:21 media timeout, but the Wildcats took control with a 12-0 run for an 82-61 lead.
Fans rocked the Rupp rafters at the 6:32 mark on a double alley-oop pass from Eric Bledsoe to John Wall to Patrick Patterson for the dunk.

Kentucky dominated around the basket, winning rebounding 44-24 and points in the paint, 44-16.
Kentucky made a perfect 18-of-18 at the foul line. It is the third-best free-throw performance in school history. UK made 19-of-19 against Mississippi State on Feb. 8, 1983, and against Duke on March 3, 1930.
Kentucky made 50.8 percent from the field (32-of-63), the seventh time this season the Wildcats have made at least half of their shots in a game.
UK limited Austin Peay to 37.5 percent shooting (24-of-64), the seventh time this season that the opponent has been held under 40 percent.

Patrick Patterson led the Wildcats with a season-high 21 points and nine rebounds.
DeMarcus Cousins tallied 19 points and eight rebounds.
- Cousins has been more effective in the second half of games. He’s averaging 14.6 points and 8.3 rebounds per game, with an average of 8.7 points and 5.6 rebounds in the second half.
John Wall scored 17 points, 13 of which came in the first half, and had a game-high six assists.
- Wall has scored in double figures in every game this season.
Ramon Harris grabbed six rebounds in only seven minutes of action.
Darnell Dodson blocked three shots, most for him as a Wildcat.
DeAndre Liggins, making his first home appearance of the season, played 12 minutes with two points, one rebound and an assist.
