LEXINGTON, Ky. – Junior Patrick Patterson has added another honor to his growing preseason list, being named first team preseason All-America by the Associated Press.

Patterson becomes the first Wildcat since Tayshaun Prince in the 2001-02 season to receive preseason All-American status from the AP.

He enters his junior year ranked 55th on UK’s all-time scoring list with 1,020 points. A two-time All-SEC selection and 2009 NABC Second Team All-District selection, Patterson was the only SEC player last year to rank in the top-five in scoring and rebounding at 17.9 ppg and 9.3 rpg, while also leading the SEC with 15 double-doubles last season.

In addition to this honor, Patterson is on the Naismith and Wooden preseason watch lists, for National Player of the Year, and has received All-America status from several national media outlets.
