Lexington, KY – University of Kentucky women’s basketball fans are invited to the third annual “UK Hoops Fan Day” Saturday, Nov. 7 in Memorial Coliseum. The event is free of charge and will feature music, free posters, an autograph session and a Blue and White scrimmage. Doors will open at 9:30 a.m. ET and the first 100 fans will receive a free hot dog and coke. The event will begin at 10 a.m. ET.

“We are excited about our ‘Fan Day’ because we will have an opportunity scrimmage against our very talented male practice squad, The Blue Bombers,” UK Hoops Coach Matthew Mitchell said. “The scrimmage will benefit us greatly because it gives us game-like situations and a game-like atmosphere. We hope everyone can make it to Memorial Coliseum Saturday morning and then head over to Commonwealth Stadium to tailgate and cheer on the Cats against Eastern Kentucky.”

Following the scrimmage the entire UK Hoops team and coaching staff will sign autographs.

Parking will be available in any “E” lot surrounding Memorial Coliseum. Remember, parking is NOT allowed in “R” lots at any time.

“Fan Day” also is the fifth and final event in the season ticket campaign called the “Drive for 5K.” The Wildcats are looking to break the current season ticket record of 4,808 set in 2005-06.

Season tickets, which include 17 home games in Memorial Coliseum, will be available for purchase at the scrimmage for just $45. Any fan that purchases two or more season tickets at “Fan Day” will be entered in a drawing for two pre-game sideline passes for the UK vs. Tennessee football game on Nov. 28.

This year’s schedule is highlighted by matchups against first-time opponent Boston University in the season opener on Nov. 13 at 11 a.m. ET and intrastate rival Louisville on Dec. 20 in the “Pack the House” game at 1 p.m. ET. The Southeastern Conference schedule also features eight home games compared to seven in previous years, as the league has adopted a 16-game slate beginning in the 2009-10 season.

Single-game tickets are just $5 each. All tickets can be purchased by visiting the ticket office at the Joe Crafter Center, buying them online at www.ukathletics.com or by calling the UK Ticket Office at 1-800-928-2287. Both reserved and general admission seats are still available.
