KNOXVILLE, Tenn. – The University of Kentucky women’s golf team shot a second-round 309 Saturday for a two-day 631 at the Mercedes-Benz Women’s Championship at Fox Den C.C. in Knoxville, Tenn.

Freshman Ashleigh Albrecht recorded the Cat’s low round of the day with an even-par 72. With an 82 in the first round, Albrecht leads the team with a 36-hole 154.

Betsie Johnson posted a 77 in the second round and enters the final day with a 158. The freshman shot Kentucky’s low score in the first round with a 78.

Senior Sara Hurwitch (162) and freshman Heather Lott (168) each registered an 80 on the day. Sophomore Ashlee Rose rounded out Kentucky’s starting five with an 81 (161).

Host No. 18 Tennessee leads the event with a 2-under-par 574 (283-291). Louisville’s Sara-Maude Juneau is the top individual with a 141 (72-69).

Lott tees off tomorrow at 10:39 a.m. EDT on No. 10. The team will continue to tee off every nine minutes.

Kentucky faces a number of Southeastern Conference competitors at the tournament. SEC opponents include Tennessee, Arkansas, Mississippi, South Carolina, Florida and LSU. Also participating is Louisville, Wake Forest, TCU, Kent State, UTSA, Chattanooga, North Carolina, Notre Dame, Furman, Ohio State and Tulane.
