LEXINGTON, Ky. — The Kentucky baseball program will host an alumni weekend during the UK football homecoming matchup with Mississippi State, running Friday, Oct. 30 and Saturday, Oct. 31, head coach Gary Henderson announced.

“One of the things that make UK baseball so special is the relationship that the program and the current players have with the alumni,” Henderson said. “We have had some of the top players in the storied history of the Southeastern Conference play in Lexington and their strong desire to remain connected with the program is very special. We look forward to spending time with our alumni during the weekend and showing some of our new players what it means to be a part of UK baseball.”

The weekend will coincide with the football homecoming weekend, where the Wildcats will host Mississippi State Saturday, with the game time to be announced. Friday, there will be a golf scramble at Spring Valley Golf Course, starting at 1 p.m. ET. Following the golf outing, the team will participate in an intrasquad game, slated to begin at 4 p.m., with an alumni home run derby taking place following the game.

Saturday, UK will again have an intersquad scrimmage, working around the football game with the Bulldogs. Following the scrimmage, UK will host the alumni in a catered lunch at Cliff Hagan Stadium.

In the intrasquad games Friday and Saturday, the alumni will be in the dugouts before, during and after the scrimmage, allowing the current players to interact with the alumni and build relationships with some of the top players in the 106-year history of the UK baseball program.

If any alumni would like to take part in the UK baseball alumni weekend, please RSVP by Friday, Oct. 23. If you have any questions, please contact Lauren Williams (lauren.williams@uky.edu; 859-257-8052).
