LEXINGTON, Ky. – The University of Kentucky swimming and diving teams unveiled their 2009-10 schedules, Thursday.
The Wildcats will hold four home events in the coming year, including two Southeastern Conference foes.
UK opens the year on the road at South Carolina on Oct. 9, the first of six combined conference opponents. UK hosts Arkansas, SIU and Cumberland on Oct. 17 to open the home slate. Following that dual competition, Kentucky travels to Tennessee on Oct. 30.
Kentucky will then head east to border-state Virginia to take on both the Cavaliers and the Hokies of Virginia Tech on consecutive days. UK faces Virginia on Nov. 6 and then Virginia Tech on Nov. 7.
The Wildcats will remain on the road for the Tennessee Invitational Nov. 19-21. Wrapping up fall competition is a home date with Indiana on Dec. 5.
To begin the New Year, Kentucky travels to Tuscaloosa, Ala., for a dual-meet with Alabama on Jan. 16. The Wildcats will then visit in-state rival Louisville on Jan. 23. Kentucky’s dual-meet season wraps up with Cincinnati and Vanderbilt at the Lancaster Aquatic Center on Jan. 30.
The always competitive SEC Championships are hosted by Georgia this season. Athens welcomes all 12 institutions Feb. 17-20.
Purdue hosts the Women’s NCAA Championships March 18-20 while Ohio State will host the national meet on the men’s side, March 25-27.
