LEXINGTON, Ky. – Looking for more University of Kentucky football news now that spring practice is over?
If so, then head coach Rich Brooks, along with the Wildcats’ coach of the future, Joker Phillips, can satisfy that need. Brooks and Phillips have joined the hottest Internet craze and created their own official Twitter accounts. Fans can receive instant updates, or “tweets,” directly from Brooks and Phillips on the Internet or on their mobile phone.
Fans can go to http://twitter.com/UKCoachBrooks and http://twitter.com/JokerPhillips to follow the coaches. Users must create an account to join. Once logged in, fans have the choice of following other users, and they can activate their mobile devices to receive “tweets” as other users, including Brooks and Phillips, post them.
Twitter is a free service that lets users keep in touch with people through the exchange of quick, frequent answers to one simple question: “What are you doing?”
Now, if fans want to know what Brooks and Phillips are doing while they are at home, at work or on the go, the answers will be right at their fingertips.
There are many Twitter accounts that might include the names of Rich Brooks or Joker Phillips, but the ones listed above are the only Twitter entities that are officially sanctioned by the University of Kentucky Athletics Department and the coaches.
