LEXINGTON, Ky. – Louisville native Stephanie Klefot will join the Kentucky volleyball squad this fall as an addition to the 2009 freshman class. Klefot is a defensive specialist/libero from Assumption High School.
Klefot joins Whitney Billings and Alexandra Morgan to the 2009 freshman class. Billings and Morgan were fall signees.
“Stephanie is a fantastic athlete and plays the game with no fear,” said head coach Craig Skinner. “She comes from a tradition of success at Assumption and expects to win each time she steps on the court. We are thrilled that she is a Wildcat.”
The Louisville native has enjoyed a stellar high school and prep career and will look to continue her success at the collegiate level. Klefot is a three-time national champion on the AAU level. She is also a three-time national runner-up and a two-time bronze medalist in the national tournament.

In addition to her national championship crowns as a prep player, Klefot was a member of the 2007 Assumption state championship team.
PrepVolleyball.com named Klefot a Defensive Dandy in 2008 in addition to earning Region 7 Player of the Year honors at Assumption in her senior season. She was tabbed a member of the All-State second team and a KHSAA Region 7 All-Tournament team member. In 2008 she also racked up All-Tournament honors at the Nike Challenge and the Durango Classic.
