LEXINGTON, Ky. – Senior Andy Winings has been selected to the All-Southeastern Conference second team announced by the league office, Monday. The honor marks the second time that Winings has earned All-SEC honors in his four years during his Kentucky golf career.

“This is the second year in a row that Andy Winings has made All-SEC in  what is the most competitive golf conference in Division I golf,” head coach Brian Craig said. ” Andy has been very, very good for us for all four years of his career.  However, in the last two years he has matured into what I call an “everyday player” which simply means he is good even when he does not have his best game.  Andy can flat play and is very deserving of being recognized as one of the best players in the SEC.”

The Brownsburg, Ind., native leads the Kentucky men’s golf team with a 73.10 stroke average during the 2008-09 season. Winings has also finished in top 20 of every tournament during his senior campaign, including his second career hole-in-one at the Jacksonville University Invitational on the 170-yard par three number two hole.

Kentucky currently waits to hear what NCAA region they will be playing after qualifying for NCAA postseason play for the sixth time in the past seven years. The regional dates are set for May 14-16 and the location should be announced sometime in the next two weeks after other conferences wrap-up their seasons.
