Women's Golf

April 5, 2009

LOOKOUT MOUNTIAN, Ga. – The University of Kentucky women’s golf team will take the field at the Lady Mocs Intercollegiate as the highest ranked team, on April 6-7.

The classic was originally scheduled to be a 54-hole tournament but weather concerns forced the tournament committee to reduce play to 36 holes.

“We are bracing for a combination of cold temperatures, gusty winds, rain and snow over the next 48 hours,” head coach Myra Blackwelder said. “The key to our success will be steeling our attitudes and adapting to the sloping mountainside golf course.”

No. 42 Kentucky will join Butler, No. 47 Chattanooga, Jacksonville State, University of Louisiana at Monroe, Oakland, University of Texas at San Antonio, Troy, Winthrop and Wofford on the Lookout Mountain Golf Course (Par 72, 6,117 yards).

Tee time on Monday will begin at 9:30 a.m. ET. Visit UKathletics.com for tournament results.
