LEXINGTON, Ky. – Fresh off impressive ends to the season at the 2009 NCAA Championships, the Kentucky men’s and women’s swimming and diving teams continued to rake in post-season honors.
The College Swimming Coaches Association of America named both of Gary Conelly’s squads to the Division I Academic All-America Fall 2008 Team.
The Kentucky women combined for a 3.32 team grade point average in the fall. That total ranks them 30th in the country. Four SEC teams comprised the top-20 with Vanderbilt’s women holding the top spot. Alabama and Kentucky rated 30th with Arkansas and South Carolina included in the top-30.
On the men’s side, UK tallied a combined GPA of 3.01–marking both teams for an above 3.00 average. Only Alabama and Florida ranked higher than the Wildcats in overall team GPA in the Southeastern Conference.
