AWENDAW, S.C. – After the opening 18 holes in the fifth-annual Hootie at Bulls Bay Intercollegiate, Kentucky men’s golf is in11th place after firing a team score of 300 on the Bulls Bay Golf Club, par-71 course. The Wildcats are led by junior Jordan Blann’s three-over par 74.
Only two strokes separate the top four scorers for Kentucky in the Hootie at Bulls Bay Intercollegiate.
Blann’s opening round 74 leads the Wildcats and places him in a tie for the 24th spot followed by freshman Mads Kristensen’s tie for 37th after firing a four-over-par 75. Also tied for 37th is senior co-captain Ben Fuqua.
Fellow senior co-captain Andy Winings shot a five-over par 76 to claim a tie in the 45th spot while sophomore James Kania rounds out the starting five for Kentucky with nine-over-par 80 for a share of the 68th spot.
Kentucky returns to the Bulls Bay Golf Club tomorrow morning at 8 EDT for the second round with a shotgun start.
The tournament benefits the Hootie and the Blowfish Foundation, which was established in April 2000 to support music education for all students throughout the nation.
