BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – University of Kentucky sophomore diver Jessie Snowden has been named the SEC Diver of the Week as announced by the league office on Tuesday. This is the first weekly honor of the season for the Wildcats.

Snowden has been a major force on the boards for UK all season long. Last week she helped guide UK to a victory over No. 20 Missouri. The sophomore captured a win on the one-meter board in the upset victory for the Wildcats.

She was also a double-winner for Kentucky against SEC-opponent LSU earlier in the week. Snowden took top honors on both spring boards in Baton Rouge, including etching a season-best clip of 296.03 in her win on the one-meter.

Snowden was the 2008 SEC Freshman Diver of the Year and also captured SEC Diver of the Week honors as a freshman following the first collegiate action of her career. She currently sits among the top-three scorers in UK’s all-time record books.

Kentucky returns to action on Saturday, as the men and women host Alabama at the Lancaster Aquatic Center. The meet is slated for a noon start.
