LEXINGTON, Ky. – Junior defensive end Jeremy Jarmon and sophomore defensive tackle Ricky Lumpkin have been declared unable to play in Saturday’s game at Tennessee, Coach Rich Brooks has announced.

Jarmon had arthroscopic knee surgery on Nov. 18 because of a cartilage tear sustained in the Vanderbilt game. Lumpkin had a high-ankle sprain in that game. Free safety Marcus McClinton already had been declared out for Tennessee because of a severe leg laceration sustained vs. the Commodores.

Jarmon and McClinton are starters and Lumpkin is the team’s top reserve at the tackle slots. With Nii Adjei Oninku moving into Jarmon’s spot, none of UK’s other D-Line reserves have seen extensive game action.

The good news in the situation is that Jarmon, Lumpkin and McClinton are expected to be available for Kentucky’s bowl game.

Kentucky (6-5 overall, 2-5 Southeastern Conference) plays Tennessee (4-7, 2-5) on Saturday at 6:30 p.m. in a game that will be televised on ESPN2.
