- Kentucky had its first lineup change of the season when freshman Darius Miller made his first collegiate start in place of Ramon Harris. Prior to tonight, Harris had started the previous 27 games dating back to last season.

Individual game notes
- Patrick Patterson totaled a career-high 28 points and 12 rebounds.
- It is his second double-double of the season (also North Carolina ) and eighth of his career.
- Patterson actually achieved his double-double by halftime with 22 and 10 in the opening period.
- Patterson also had career highs in assists (six) and blocked shots (four).
- Jodie Meeks was next for the Cats in scoring with 17 points.
