Lexington, Ky. – University of Kentucky women’s soccer coach Warren Lipka will not be retained for next season according to UK athletics director Mitch Barnhart.

“We’re grateful for what Warren accomplished at Kentucky,” said Barnhart. “We just feel it’s time to go in a different direction. We wish Warren nothing but the best in his future endeavors.”

The Wildcats posted a 5-12-2 mark this season, including a 3-7-1 record in conference play.

Lipka, who started the women’s soccer program in 1992, is the only coach the program has ever known. He recorded a 182-139-30 (.547) record in his 17 seasons at UK.

A national search for Lipka’s replacement will begin immediately.
