KNOXVILLE, Tenn. – Climbing to No. 46 in the latest GolfStat weekly rankings, the University of Kentucky women’s golf team faces six top-25 ranked teams at the Mercedes-Benz Women’s Collegiate Championship, on Oct. 10-12.

“The tournament will be hosted at Fox Den Country Club which happens to be the home course of Alyssa Randolph, a Knoxville native,” head coach Myra Blackwelder said. “We hope that Alyssa will be able to give us a lot of home course insight into the layout and the greens and we look to capitalize on that advantage.”

Representing the Wildcats are freshmen Ashlee Rose and Randolph, juniors Erica Still and Kristin Vincent and senior Mallory Blackwelder.

Kentucky will compete against Southeastern Conference rivals No. 24 Arkansas, No. 55 Mississippi, No. 27 South Carolina, No. 59 Tennessee and LSU. The team will once again face instate foe, No. 20 Louisville, who they saw this past week at the Lady Tar Heel Invitational.

The Wildcats’ last showing at the Mercedes-Benz Championship was in 2004 when they tied for 11th with a cumulative score of 927.

The tournament begins at 9 a.m. ET with Kentucky teeing off at 10:39 a.m. ET. Live scoring is available on www.utladyvols.com or www.golfstat.com.
