LEXINGTON, Ky. – The Kentucky football team is hoping for a good start in Saturday’s game at Alabama.
That sounds like a simple goal, but it’s something no one else has been able to do this season, as the Crimson Tide have rolled over foes 74-0 in the first quarter.
“Certainly, the tempo with which they (Alabama) start the game, controlling the line of scrimmage,” Coach Rich Brooks said of the factors that have gotten Alabama going quickly. “I think that’s something we have to be ready for. It will be a challenge for us to match their physicality at the start of the game.”
The Wildcats wrapped up on-field preparations with a practice Thursday morning at the Nutter Training Center. Brooks said that the three players recovering from high-ankle sprains, quarterback/wide receiver Randall Cobb, linebacker Micah Johnson and defensive tackle Ricky Lumpkin, would go on the trip and might be available for action.
