HIGHLANDS RANCH, Colo. – Led by Kristin Vincent’s team-best 73, the 67th-ranked Kentucky women’s golf team carded a total team score of 302, good for a tie for third in the Ron Moore Intercollegiate, on Monday at the Highlands Ranch Golf Club.

Kentucky’s third-place standing after round one puts the Wildcats ahead of seven top-100 ranked teams competing in the Ron Moore Intercollegiate.

Kristin Vincent led our team with a solid performance in our opening round of the season,” head coach Myra Blackwelder said. “We are excited to get back out on the course Tuesday.”

Three UK golfers placed in the top-15 after round one with Vincent taking 10th with a 73 and Mallory Blackwelder and Erica Still tying for 13th, carding a 75. In her first appearance as a Wildcat, freshman Ashlee Rose shot a 79, tying for 35th out of the 73 golfers in the field.

Despite heavy winds kicking up during the last 12 holes, the Wildcats rallied with some late birdies coming down the stretch, securing a top-three finish in Monday’s round.

The second round will continue Tuesday with the golfers teeing off at 10:30 a.m. ET. For score updates, visit www.golfstat.com.
