Lexington, Ky. – The UK women’s soccer team can see the light at the end of the tunnel, as they play the fifth and final game of a five-match road swing on Tuesday at Evansville.

The Cats (1-4-0) have not played a home match since Thursday, Aug. 28, when they opened the season against the eighth ranked Texas Longhorns. Since then, the Cats have posted a 1-3-0 record on the road, but have taken their lumps against some of the nation’s best dropping matches to second ranked North Carolina, ninth ranked Duke and 14th ranked West Virginia.

Kentucky owns a 5-3-1 mark against Evansville (4-1-1) and is currently riding a four-match unbeaten streak as well as a two-match winning streak. The Wildcats defeated the Purple Aces 4-1 last season, the first meeting between the two squads since 2000.

Evansville enters the match on a four-match unbeaten streak, and a three-game winning streak. They’re currently averaging 2.7 goals per match, led by Kayla Lambert who has a team best 14 points on six goals, also a team high.

The Wildcats are led offensively by sophomore Laura Novikoff, who has tallied five points on two goals. Senior defender Tara Herold has been an iron woman for Kentucky having played 450 of a possible 450 minutes for UK this season.

The Cats and the Purple Aces are scheduled for an 8:00 p.m. kickoff Tuesday night. Fans can follow all the action at UKathletics.com.
