    “Birmingham, Ala.”
  2. Do you have any siblings?
    “No. It’s just me and mom, Iris.”
  3. Tell us about your mom and one thing she has taught you that you have carried to Lexington?
    “She is very independent and very honest. Honest to the point that it mayhurt your feelings. She always says ‘Depend on yourself. You won’t let yourselfdown.’ So that’s what I try to do.”
  4. School started about two weeks ago. How’s it going and what do you like best about it?
    “It’s going pretty good. I like my teachers a lot and the classes are nottoo big and not too small. They are just right.”
  5. What is your favorite class so far?
    “Earth’s Physical Environment. I like it because it teaches us about weather,hurricanes, global warming, earthquakes, etc. It’s very interesting.”
  6. You visited a few schools in your recruiting process. Why did you choose UK?
    “A lot of reasons but mostly UK’s academic program. I was blown away bythe graduation rate for student-athletes. UK gives us everything we need to graduateand I really liked that.”
  7. What is your major and what is your dream job?
    “Sociology and I’d like to be criminal lawyer one day.”
  8. What most impresses you about Coach Mitchell?
    “He’s down to earth. He doesn’t try to be someone he’s not.”
  9. Talk about your position coach Wendy Palmer and what impresses you most about her?
    “She’s been there so you have to look at that. She was an All-American incollege and played in the WNBA for so many years. She is very patient with me.She knows I’m new here and she knows what I can do and what I need help with.She pushes me but also helps me with what I need to work on.”
  10. What is your favorite shot on the court?
    “The three-point shot.”
  11. You stand at 6-2. What would you tell young girls about embracing their height?
    “Being tall is a gift from God. I would tell them to take advantage of it.Everyone can’t be tall so those of us that are need to embrace it. I think basketballwould have been harder for me if I wasn’t the height I am.”
  12. Why did you choose jersey No. 2?
    “I wanted No. 32 but it was taken and my AAU number was No. 2 so I choseit.”
  13. The team is going through individual workouts before practice starts in October. How are the workouts going for you?
    “They are more intense here. A LOT more intense! In junior college we workedhard but the speed here is better and agility drills are harder. But it’s exactlywhat I thought the SEC would be like and I enjoy it.”
  14. What are your thoughts on playing in the SEC?
    “I’ve always wanted to play in the SEC because it’s the best women’s basketballconference in the world. It’s the toughest and most competitive and I playedin the most competitive conference in junior college so I wanted to continueplaying in a tough league.”
  15. Which player has taken you under her wing and shown you the ropes?
    “Not one player specifically but the whole team. Different days there havebeen different players. They’ve all been really cool.”
  16. What were your first thoughts when you saw the Joe Craft Center?
    “I had never seen a facility like this before. I mean, nothing like this!From the weight room to the locker room and even the academic facility too. Everythinghere is better than the other schools I visited.”
  17. What was it like winning the junior college National Championship?
    “It was the greatest feeling in the world. I’m trying to feel it here too!”
  18. Didn’t you hit the game-winning shot?
    “Yes. We were up by two points and my teammate missed a shot but I reboundedit and put it in with four seconds to go. We led by four but the other team camedown the court and hit a three-pointer with one second left and we won by onlyone point.”
  19. What do you most look forward to this season?
    “The first time I’m able to put that Kentucky jersey on and I’m actuallyplaying. I also look forward to my family seeing me play on TV.”
  20. What was it like putting that Kentucky jersey on for the first time on photo day?
    “When I first saw it hanging in my locker I got excited. I was actuallyecstatic. It was emotional for me too because this is the first time I’ve everhad my name on the back of my jersey.”
  21. What motto do you try and live by each day?
    “Do unto others as you would have them do unto you and be independent.”
