LEXINGTON, Ky. –

The University of Kentucky volleyball team is back in action Tuesday when they play host to Morehead State in Memorial Coliseum. Match time is slated for a 7 p.m. start.

Fresh off a 2-1 weekend, the Wildcats will host an undefeated Morehead State team. Morehead enters the match having enjoyed a 3-0 weekend with wins over Indiana State, Western Illinois and Lipscomb. Kaitlin Craven leads the offensive attack having registered 43 kills thus far in the season.

Kentucky’s offense has hit above .200 in each of its first three matches. Sophomore Sarah Mendoza has 10 or more kills in each of UK’s matches, including a career-high 18 in the win over Pittsburgh Friday night. Six UK players own 14 or more kills for the season, led by Mendoza with 38. Sophomore Lauren Rapp averages 2.27 per set, and record her second career double-double in the win over the Panthers.

Freshman Becky Pavan has been impressive in her collegiate debut. The first-year player from Ontario leads the team with a .450 hitting clip while averaging two kills per set. Her serving has been dynamic as well, as she set a team-individual high with six service aces in a win over Western Carolina.

Juniors Sarah Rumely and BriAnne Sauer have continued their steady play. Rumely now has recorded over 3,100 assists for her career and topped the 40 or more assists in a match 47 times. Sauer led the team in digs in two of UK’s matches, while recording 25 in the win over Pittsburgh. It was her ninth career game with 20 or more digs.

This will mark the 30th time Morehead State and Kentucky have met on the volleyball court in a series that dates back to 1977. Kentucky leads the series 22-7 and has not lost since 1979. The two teams last faced each other in 2006 with Kentucky claiming a 3-2 win in Memorial Coliseum.
