LEXINGTON, KY ? The UK women?s soccer team (1-1-2) flexed its defensive muscle, shutting out Morehead State 3-0, in the Wildcats? spring match on Tuesday at the UK Soccer Complex.

Kristin Kover drew first blood for the Wildcats, when she served a ball in from the left side and it floated just out the keeper?s range for the early 1-0 score.

Kelly Miller put the Cats up 2-0, taking a loose ball off a corner kick putting it away for her first goal of the spring.

Nicola Holdsworth finished out the scoring for UK, when she took a header from Laura Novikoff and pushed it past the Eagle keeper for the final 3-0 tally.

Goalies Sydney Hiance and Laura Baker combined for the shutout for the Wildcats.

Kentucky completes its spring schedule this weekend when the Cats host Charlotte in a 1:00 p.m. match on Sunday at the UK Soccer Complex. Admission is free of charge.
