TUSCALOOSA, Ala. ? University of Kentucky women?s golf team sophomore Kristin Vincent maintained her strong play with a final round score of 74 to earn her first career top-10 finish and move UK into a fifth-place tie at the Crimson Tide Classic Sunday.
The Wildcats shot a weekend-low team score of 304 on the final day of competition to move into a fifth-place tie with Samford at 918 for the tournament. Host No. 13/7 Alabama won the 12-team Classic at the par-72, 6494-yard Ol’ Colony Golf Course, beating second-place LSU by 42 strokes.
Vincent finished ninth overall with her second consecutive two-over-par round. Her score of 225, nine strokes over par, led the Cats. Vincent was the low scorer after each round for UK.
Sophomore Erica Still and freshman Louise Ljungstedt both shot final rounds of 76 to wrap-up tourney play. Still improved to 18th overall with a final score 231 while Ljungstedt finished one stroke behind in 20th place.
Senior Beth Felts finished with a final round of 78 to finish the weekend at 235, good for 28th place. Classmate Elizabeth Dotson shot an 83 on the Classic?s final day to finish 54th overall. Freshman Paige Lausier, playing as an individual, posted a final-round score of 80 to place 46th overall.
